Within the realm of Disneyland lies Epstein Island, where screams and horrors remain hidden behind its facade. Even in the 21st century, the obscenity of such situations seems surreal and disrespectful. The child's cries were assumed to be lies, and they continued to face harsh realities. Their wails were hushed, and the echoes of their rage fell silent.
"अन-अन्त" is an art installation that conveys the repressed emotions of child sexual abuse. The walls of this space offer freedom of expression for anyone and everyone, anonymously, without fear of judgment.
This was the viewing experience for attendees entering the exhibition space:
A solitary person will be enclosed within a private area constructed of black cloth and boards. Inside, a television will display the video, while speakers will transmit the audio to the audience.
The intimate setting, inspired by the immersive room concept, underscores the importance of focusing on such a sensitive topic.
The pamphlet served as a giveaway for the audience, providing information about child sexual abuse and related facts.
Additionally, a 20-page booklet (an archive) detailed the installation process and discussed the artists who inspired the work.
Process for the installation
In the finalized installation, the room will be adorned with kite paper in three distinct colors: red, black, and yellow. Two cookers will be strategically positioned in the corner, generating a continuous ambient noise that contributes to an atmosphere of unease upon entering the space.
The walls of the room function as private areas where individuals may choose to express themselves.
However, it is noteworthy that the installation is designed to accommodate only one person at a time, thereby offering a solitary experience to each visitor.
Initial Stage
The optimal temperature setting for the induction cooker is crucial for the efficient operation of a 4-liter cooker. A consistent high temperature is required to ensure proper functionality.
Throughout a continuous operation lasting 1.5 hours, the cooker produced a total of 170 whistles. Initially, the intervals between whistles were longer, starting with a 5-minute gap and gradually decreasing to 5-10 seconds towards the end. It’s essential to use a metal extension cord capable of withstanding high heat and resistance to prevent wire melting.
